The Library After Closing
Green lamps, tall shelves and rain on the windows, all to yourself.
Read by Milo
How it begins
Settle in now, let your body grow heavy, and let tonight be a quiet one.
The last visitor has gone home. You hear the front door close with a soft, wooden sound, and then the little click of the lock. The library is yours for the evening. Nobody needs anything from you here. There is nothing to finish and nowhere to be.
Outside, it has started to rain. Not hard. Just a steady, gentle rain that taps against the tall windows. You can hear it on the glass, and further off, on the roof, a low hush that seems to go on and on.
