Overview

Sleepytimes ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our app.

Information We Collect

Sleepy needs no account, and we never ask for your name, email address or location. Your favourites, saved mixes, bedtime reminder and listening streak are kept on your device only.

Apple Health: if you choose to connect it, Sleepy reads your sleep records (time asleep and sleep stages recorded by your iPhone, Apple Watch or other apps) to show them next to your time in bed. Sleepy only reads sleep, never writes to Apple Health, and Health data stays on your device: it is not sent to us or to any service, and is never used for advertising. We only record that Health was connected. You can turn access off at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.

Sounds of the night: if you turn on recording, Sleepy uses your iPhone's microphone while you sleep and keeps only short stretches where a sound stood out (such as snoring or talking), so you can listen in the morning. Recordings are stored only on your device, are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and are deleted automatically after seven days or whenever you delete them. We only record that the feature was used and how many moments were kept, not the audio.

To understand how the app is used and improve it, we collect usage data linked to a random identifier created by the app (not to your name or Apple ID): the screens you open, the sounds and mixes you play, the sleep timer, the times you log going to bed and waking up and how you rated the night, whether you open or close the subscription screen, and your multiple-choice answers to the questions when you first open the app (your sleep goals, hours of sleep, biggest sleep challenge, usual bedtime, sound preferences, age group, gender if you choose to give it, and how you heard about Sleepy). We also receive basic device information such as the device model, operating system version, app version, language and approximate country. If you choose to send feedback from the app, we receive your star rating and whatever you write. We use this only to improve Sleepy, and never sell it or use it for advertising.

Subscriptions

Sleepy offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions to unlock premium content. These transactions are processed entirely through Apple and we do not have access to your payment information.

Third-Party Services

We use two services to run the app, which process data on our behalf: PostHog (product analytics: the usage data described above) and RevenueCat (subscriptions: it receives your purchase history from Apple, the same random identifier, and how you heard about Sleepy, so we can see which channels lead to subscriptions). We do not use advertising or cross-app tracking, and nothing is shared with data brokers.

Bedtime and trial reminders are scheduled on your device by iOS; no notification content is sent to us. To have the data linked to your identifier deleted, email us from the address below with the subject "Delete my data"; deleting the app also removes everything stored on your device.

Children's Privacy

Sleepy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Parents may use Sleepy's sounds to help children sleep; the app should be set up by the parent.
